Guest Speaker - Past ISHR President, Martin Camargo

The Argentina Association of Rhetoric (AAR), the Master of Literary Studies at the Faculty of Arts at the University of Buenos Aires, the SECRIT (Seminar on Editing and Textual Criticism "Dr. Germán Orduna" - CONICET) and the faculty of graduate studies has invited Dr. Martin Camargo, of the University of Illinois in the United States, to speak as follows:

Martin Camargo received his degree in philosophy from Princeton University and his doctorate from the University of Illinois—Urbana, USA, where he works as a professor specializing in Medieval Literature, History of Rhetoric, and History of the English language. He has conducted research on medieval rhetoric subsidized by grants from the American Council of Learned Societies, the National Endowment for the Humanities and the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. He chaired the International Society for the History of Rhetoric (ISHR) during 2011-2013 and was its vice president in 2009-2011. He is also on the Editorial Board of the journal Rhetorica (for ISHR), and is co-editor of the Journal of Inglés and Germanic Philology. He has lectured at universities in the United States, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Denmark, Italy and England. His books include Essays on Medieval Rhetoric, Medieval Rhetorics of Prose Composition: Five Inglés "Arts dictandi" and Their Tradition and The Middle Inglés Verse Love Epistle.
